What a great day mid winter. Sander, Michel, Dirk and yourstruly had a nice battle.I raced a little offsynch as I had some trimming issues in the beginning. It shows all is in the details. I needed to place my mastfoot 1.5cm further forward to the usual spot. I thought with the KA the mastfoot could be placed further back but it turned out the sweetspot is simply the sweetspot.

I can trim the S2 with my eyes closed but I am still finding out about the KA and the way to rig it the best possible way. I really love both concepts: S2 and KA, eventhough the sails are totally different in character. I can use the S2 a little earlier and the KA stays more neutral for me in more wind.

As I was a little underpowered on the 5.7 I thought I'd best sail it with quite some negative on the outhaul but I found out the sail doesn't like it.

So I decided to stay on the water longer and luckily it paid out as the wind came back. While the other contenders for day victory were on the water I had an average speed of around 70.4km.

Congrats to Sander for day victory! Onto the next one :-).
