just took a sandbank  with 65 km/h this morning. There was nobody sailing but because there was some wind I just wanted to check out the beach line and depth. So I went out on 6.2 and fmx invic 74. This way I expecetd to only be planing sometimes so I would have to walk a lot and investigate the shore line depth. But imimidiatly there was some wind and I was able to make a run. So than I went for a second run after being upwind again. This time I tought let's just take the little channel between the beach and the sandbank. To stay away from the sandbank I went pretty close to the beach. it looked like I had 1,5 meter, but a wave sucked all the water away at the moment I was at a very shallow part resulting in a tremendious BANG. Some kiters who where giving lesson from a zodiac came running up to me to check out If i was still allive.  but I felt good and had nothing. Luckely my (new) harnass line was broke and also the rope holding the rear of my sail was completely pulled thru the plastic. This probably saved me and other gear damage. Later I saw my shoulder broke the batten  at the 4th camber sticking thru the pocket. But I was able to fix this with tape. Back on the beach Jacque vd Hout was also rigging. HE helped me by putting 2 sticks at the channel I crashed and said just sail right in between to sticks. I followed him and it was kind of going thru a trauma just racing again at that spot but now only half a meter more away from the place I crashed... I'm glad it fixed my fear for the sandbank and  to learn more  I followed him a few more runs.

He stopped at the right moment. I hang around some time, was able to do 1 run and do a walk of shame back.. Now ready to check out @ the defi wind area  (eventough it is blowing again during posting this somehow haha...)

It was very valuable this morning, because now I'm a lot better prepared for tomorrow when the conditions are better expected.
