Blast of a session......

wind was good and initially not to square, i kept on doing consistend runs of 41-42knots and was able to stay out for 1.5 hours, i find it difficult to downhaul the 5.4 sail with the ratchet system, somehow this pulley system has the one hole on the wrong side, anyway was slightly overpowered but really enjoy the sail and fin comb i got.

The kai Kopf fins are really cool and give a good warning when pushing to hard wothout letting go, i shimmed the fin to be nice and flush ( as advised by hennie B) and gave it carrots and voila, some good speeds....

The end of the day however braught a dissapointing end, just after i left ( to go and watch repeat of F1 - and yes schumi is the man !!! ) i got a called from the yacht club that mathias has wiped out badly.
When i spoke t him later and got the whole story it was not pretty - he was racing juergen ( a kiter ! ) when his board lifted and somehow the nose ended up digging in at 41kts ! he said he had the worst wipe out ever in his life, he got catapulted badly and it looks like he broke some bones in his right foot ( he thinks the leash was to big ! ), I went and saw him today and he was not happy clappy - however we not sure yet what the prognosis is, lets hope for the best.
