What a day! It has been awhile since sailing in winds this strong, the point definitely lived up to its name sand blasting all in its path. At times looking back walking up the bank you could not make out where the sand met the waters edge, more like a sand haze around half a meter high blending to water.

Well deserved results for Chris and Mal, your time and effort developing your gear has proven itself great work!! For me the fastest I’ve been, stoked about my 500, just moved up around you Mr Daff. My fastest 10sec was not in the broadest part of the course, this was when there was a lull if you could call it that.

I suffered the same fate as most with 5.0s’ just a bit to much to keep it all locked down and going for it, but the Koncept really proved itself once again sailing back upwind, it did not slam me once when those crazy gusts would hit it just swallowed it all up. Then again, there was also someone else using a 5.8 ‘07 in the crazy conditions and doing well considering.

Anyway a session where I’m sure a lot was learnt by all , even if it is only to remember to pack some form of eye protection, and maybe not to sail too close to the bank and others trekking back on it ;).
