Nice but long day. Woke up in Geneva (Switzerland) this morning at 5 am, had a nice 'surfers' breakfast, took a taxi to the airport, flew back to Brussels, drove 150km to Ouddorp Haven to meet both André's around 11 am. Prepared my board and I was about to rig my 7.8 when Dave arrived at Ouddorp and convinced me to go to the freestyle spot.

The whole month of september I was busy at home digging out 35cm concrete and after about 10 000 kgs my back said 'NO' to windsurfing... but my mind said 'YES' !! So maybe it was better to look for flat water iso the choppy waters around OH.

When arriving at Herkingen, i saw some 6.2 race sails and 7.0 sails. I was fully prepared for 7.8 today, but with my lighter weight I sticked to 7.0. Tried the combo F51 + 7.0 for the first time and this combo is easy going, but needs more wind for full potential. However did fastest run and max speed (63.72) with this set.

Later on I went back to change for my favorite combo: FF85 + 7.8. I should have rigged the 7.8 immediately iso going on the water with the 7.0!! Run 2,3,4,5 are done with the superb 7.8. Max speed was 62.54. Just a few knots more and it would have been record conditions for my 7.8

Had a close encounter today, but the atmosphere was nice. Had alot of fun with Dirk, the O-spot team and the 'little' boys from Zero Bft with their 'small' gear ;-) Too bad that I missed the best part of the day (before noon). Next time i'll try to find the afterburner on my plane ;-)

Did already more 60+ AVG sessions with 7.8 then I did with my 7.0 !! This sail just rocks !! My back was holding tight quite well and I even did another +100km today.

Next time I keep with my first idea !!
