Yeahhhh :):):) finally a very decent speedsurfing session. Got up at 3 in the morning and was in doubt wether or not I should really make the 700km da-roundtrip, with a forecast of just 22 kts and some 30something kts gusts, but gave it a go anyway

So I arrived at the Lauwersmeer at sunrise and the wind was good with ~25-30kts. Rigged 6,4 with the 50speed and made my way upwind to the speedspot, was the only surfer on the water at that time. Had some issues with jibing the speedboard on the outside with the waves, I have to work on that.

First runs were around 33 with peaks of 35 until I realised the bottom camber wasn't correctly adapted to the mast, so got ashore and fixed it.

Now my next runs were all around 35 with peaks of 36-37. Then the wind turned up to ~30 kts for a short time, the first run in that wind I almost catapulted as a gust hit me so hard, anyway I got a 37,5kts peak in that run. I quickly went back to go for another run and got it a lot better this time and hit 39 topspeed :) As the wind dropped back I made a little break and went back out later with some dutch speedies. By then the wind had dropped to around 20-28kts, so I just cruised the spot for a while and called it a day.

Lauwersmeer is a great spot for speedsurfing, and not so crowded, I like it very much and will cerainly visit this spot more often now. I got a PR for 6,4 sail today and was just 0.5kts of my alltime peakspeed, and just 0.2 kts of my best average.
