Good session on the water with a mixture of old and new gear!...Bruce... that bigworld fin inspires a lot of confidence!.. especially when you get caught up in a 40 knot squall as you head out for the first run...and decide to push it hard without checking a:the water depth and b:how rough the course actually is.... the water state was a shocker the full length of the run but that fin stuck like super glue (the number 12)
the 4.4 combined with 17 inch board was a little small leaving my wallowing at times while Luke got in some good runs... but it as sweet when it was blowing hard out... new PBs for the 2second/max/10second/100m/250m so I am stoked and looking forward to a day where we have 30 to 35 to several hours solid....a 44-45 knot average will be on... Sincere apologies to Luke who I nearly killed out there today... a warning to all punters in this... I took a backward sommersault spill that left me dazed for a couple of minutes... but didnt look back up the course to check all clear before heading intowards the beach...You must have just about speared your ass on my board nose as you flew past at well over 40k.....and at that speed there is no chance of sudden direction change without making the situation worse... Good skill in getting around me and leaving us both in one piece! I owe you for that
