I have been missing good wind daily due to work, so it has been day after day of moderate sailing on my 7.0. I launched from the Event Site, then down to the Marina. Today was a real challenge, as wind was up and down, Puffs would bring some acceleration, but then the lulls challenged! This was technically challenging. But, it is all about maximizing what the wind gives. I choose slalom racing fin sizes to get the most sailing. A smaller fin can yield a bit more top end, but at loss of major amount of sailing. Next day like this I will go to 7.6, maybe even a deeper fin to stay hooked in the most:) Wind speeds are estimates. It takes 12 to 14 to get going (will measure with wind meter in future), might be getting through a few 10 knot holes. Anyone else sailing Sonic 100 with slalom fins in this weather?
