A very nice test day after yerdeau's disappointment. The Ultimate Speed Machine is approved for production. It's a pretty radical and innovative round bottom shape which is supported by the steps to prevent it from rolling. This gives a very loose and lively feel to the board. Originally this design was meant as a freeride concept and the bottom shape was meant to make gybing easier, but it sure is fast as well. The P7 6.3 was way too small for the conditions but it struck me once again just how easy it is to get this shape up to speed.. I am getting more and more at ease with sailing small sizes again. As soon as the gusts are long enough there seems to be no real downside to using relatively small sizes.
