gps-speedsurfing

I'm new to the GPSspeedsurfing and I'm very impressed with all the riders out there as well as this website. Hopefully I'll get up there in the rankings one day if I can get my GPS device to work properly.

Right now I'll like to see if I can make the Garmin 310xt work that I own. It's been pretty relieable with Standup Paddling but with a need for more accuracy in speedsurfing, i may have to fix a few problems.

When I look at my gpx file on gpsresults, I see that it is not recording data points every second but rather intermitent 3 to 8 seconds recordings. So, gpsspeedsurfing is not able to aquire enough accurate data to propegate my session data.

Does anyone have any fixes or suggestions for my Garmin watch? I assume for now that I should clear all the memory in my watch before each session and try to see if that helps.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Ok. Not to answer my own questions but here is what I discovered today.

1. I updated my firmware and now, i get an option to set the "record" time to one second increments. It did not have that option before. This may make all the difference.

2. The new update allows me to set different sports modes. There is no windsurfing option, so I picked biking which is as close to the speeds that we do on our windsurfers.  I have no idea is this will help but i'll have to just test it next time.
