A try out session with a different/new combo for me, 7m sail on 90 litre slaloom board, seemed to work very well at the spot. although a tad too comfortable in the short choppy waters of the lagoon ( k lagoon). My GT31 compared to other devices is giving me a lot less speed readings than other devices. I tracked a faster run than a fellow speed challenger whos Garmin fenix gave him 31 knots something. He was downwind of me, I was much higher upwind doing a much deeper broad angle downwind run from behind him, literally catching up to him and over taking him right at the end. At least 3 or 4 knots faster than him on that run. Yet my GT31 spewed out a max speed of only 26 knots something and his device gives up over 31 knots ... this is clearly odd and for a while now i've been wondering why my speeds which 'feel' faster at times dont compare as faster... something to check out further with gp3s or those who have much more technical knowledge of the settings of the units.
The 31cm fin using the 7m sail on the 90 litre small slalom board worked very well with no hint of spin out or issues going upwind with. Sunny day
