7°C 280° Terrible lightwind struggle with the SRD 38 with spinouts by the fleet. About halfway it got better, remembering Vince's tip: don't sail with back hand pull. So was looking for a stance in which all the sail pressure was transmitted through my rear leg to the board/fin. This was using the rope almost continuously to get enough pressure to keep planing, and the back foot barely in the strap (probably need shorter harness lines). Also need to immediately release pressure on the fin in a lull or it spins out instantly. It works, but it's not relaxed sailing, and in the at best sketchy wind it was sailing upwind all the time even though the reaches were square.... So after 18.000 kms learned windsurfing lesson nr.1: to avoid spinouts: close the door to maximize sail pressure, keep pressure on the fin at all times, but in a lull: release pressure instantly.
