Nice session at Oostvoorne with not very happy with the speeds because Jacq was the king today. But it was a good training for Karpathos. I hope i beat Martin and Wouter it was close

Haha, I took my 7.0 out of the bag...I thought...but saw it was the 6.2 Slalom. I accidentally swapped sailbags so I had to go for the smaller size. Happy with the speed considering the gusty wind on the course. Sailing back upwind I had plenty but on the course the 6.2 was clearly too small, but the new fin Boogie designed helped me to keep gliding through the lulls. Jacques got his new JP speedboards by airfreight just before the start of Karpathos. The boards look awesome. I had one run on the board just before we left. The feeling is loose but controllable. The boards are very compact. I saw Jacques smoking down the run a couple of times with a huge smile on his face so I guess he liked them. Can't wait to receive mine...

After waiting such a long time on wednesday i finally received the production JP Speedboard just in time for the Speed World Cup in Karpathos. I hoped to get some wind this weekend to get used to the boards but the forecast isn't that good. Today i had other things to take care of so i was only able to sail in the evening.
I was so lucky that the wind just started in the evening.
After this session i'm 100% sure which boards and fins to take to Karpathos. Antoine and Christophe (shaper) came with some real fast speedboards, i broke today several records and this was only the first time on the board.
-spot record Oostvoornsemeer in topspeed, 10sec average, 500m etc etc. Was previously set with a 5,8 and a lot more wind.
-fastest average ever for me on a 7,0!
I look forward to sail the smaller sizes aswell in Karpathos. But the biggest size i sailed today is already fast enough for those conditions over there. Just have to bring one board......i guess.
Also proud to be the first to post with the 2010 JP Speed production boards on this website. Hopefully many more will follow.

The wind was a lotery! Gust or nothing...
Had to leave early and then it improved, the big guns went very fast then!
Heard about a new spot record for Jac first time out on a new board...

Shit, definately a new spot record!
Damn fast and for me it looks impossible to ever beat this at my home spot...
All congratulations with the amazing speeds, it is very difficult to go really fast here because of the gusty wind and the chop.

Redelijk aangeslagen door de tijden van Jacques! Had zelf de indruk dat ik de boel niet aan de praat kreeg en ook te snel de boel opgegeven. Had achteraf toch beter gewoon door kunnen knallen......Leerpuntje!
