Sunday 11th July - Windsurf * - The Dip at Felixstowe – sunny periods and hot.

Foil – 15.18 knot max, 7.53 knot ave.,, 1.06 knot hour, 0.00 knot mile, 7.26 km., 6.37 knot alpha.

Starboard Freeride 150 and an Evolution Freeride foil with a Sailworks Retro 7.5.

The heatwave continues so Mag headed out early on her bike, I gave it a miss then had the usual morning at home with one eye on Landguard in case a sea breeze kicked in again. It didn’t look very promising then at 2.40 Ian messaged to say he was heading down to The Manor to meet up with Neil. I managed to get in Squiz Land and to be honest the onshore wind was probably blowing 14 knots so I quickly set up, I am getting good at Starboard foil assembly now:) I was on the water at 3.20 with the wind easing but I pumped up on a gust and foiled past the pier, a really nice run. Sadly, that was it as the wind dropped, I floundered about for a bit before deciding to call it a day. Lightweight Ian had a few flying runs while Neil struggled with 6.4.

Supposed to be hot again tomorrow with the chance of another sea breeze, will have to sea but although the onshore SE is a nice direction for cruising along the coast it picks up quite lumpy:(
