Loaded the kit on the vas yesterday to meet up with Peter Cutts at Point Clear even if the tide was not brilliant and gale force winds and then in the afternoon had a dodgey stomach and was sick just before bed :( Up early feeling not much better and should have stayed in bed !!! Mag decided to come to drive me home :) Arrived Point Clear at 8:20 with Dave White rigging 4.2 and winds gusting to 53 mph !!! - check out Dave's facebook page for some great pics of his day, at least he had a good sail. Rigged 5.2 and took out the falcon 80 into the lagoon and it was rubbish :( even with the tide high the water was very shallow - a foot of water and two feet of mud and I had a crawl out a few times - knackering when you are not feeling great and then your boom, sail, board etc were covered in mud making sailing very difficult and the water was very choppy making holding onto a slippery boom on fun at all !!! Pete managed one blistering 38 kt run - out of control into the chop !!! :) but I strugged all day in the cold and soon gave up. As the wind dropped and the tide went out the channel would have worked but you needed a bigger sail but I just wanted to go home by then - at least Mag enjoyed her morning walking on thre beach collecting pebbles and driftwood :)

Got to Point Clear befor 9am -wind gusting to 50 MPH so had my first go with Severn code red race sail 4.7 - felt good but some realy big gusts -- water not good for speed as the tide was going out - thought id good a realy quick Alfa but didnt get it upwind enough - good fun trying though in the sun and still not cold
