My first runs at Luderitz Soeed canal;-)

Not many that could sail today in these light winds but I had my 49 and 6.3 and could get som runs.

Max windspeed was about 23kn.

Hope for more tomorrow but less then yesterday!!

This file contains only 2 runs sailed on the canal, then I switched of the device.

Later I started it up again and sailed a few  runs on the canal before switching to the lagoon.

My fastest 500m run in this file was 35,270 kts (sailed in chop and a bended curve in the lagoon), the second fastest was one on the canal (a 34,216kts)  ,the third again on the lagoon, the forth again in the canal,..

So  I decide to post it as sailed entirly on the lagoon not to make it to complicated.

Although my average speed was more then 4 kts faster then Henrik shills time.

Those who want to compare, can compare via the world day ranking.

First go at the canal in light and broad conditions (broad even for Luderitz). The start feels similar to WK with the gusty wind initially and then slingshot 90 degrees. Intimidating to start with running down a course with sand either side but there is room to feel relaxed and go for it. Finish area seems plenty big enough (they're saying its 100m longer than last year) but lets see how big it feels in 45kts of wind :-)

Speeds irrelavent today - just great to finally be on the course and start to learn how it works. I think after 6 months of build up and watching footage i needed it just to relax a little. The course looks so intimidating when you see it for the first time (narrow and tiny finish area) but when you're sailing it it feels fine. fingers crossed for good wind and speed Friday!
