Escaped yesterday to South of France to combine work with watersport. Took only the JP Speed 45, NeilPryde Evo5 5,4 & 5,8, a kite speed board, Cabrinha Spectrum 140 and Cabrinha Switchblade 7, 9 & 12. Morning and evenings working and during the day a few hours on the water. Can't be better.

Sander and Michel are also here, we didn't find a speed course without sandbanks at Les Coussoulles, so we tried Port La Nouvelle Plage Sud. Never expected to do speeds like this on this place as the wind angle is always more square. With braking the spot record i broke the golden rule between Hans and me, never take a spot record when the defender is not there. Very sorry Hans, didn't knew this upfront and was not the intention to sail there at all. When you are at home i give you some nice JP/NP stickers to make up for this;-)

I had 5 good runs and in afternoon the sun was not helping to get a good view over the speed course, decided to go back to the Hotel while Sander and Michel are trying to get used to the spot.

Eerste dag in Frankrijk. Klasse Jacques.

Sander and I decided to go a full week to La Franqui since the forecast looked super. When we arrived the wind was still broad causing a lot of rolling chop. This in combination with a lot of sandbanks which ment a no go for coussoules. So we tried the beach upwind of the wooden pier beacause the water was ok here. Jacques soon already had big numbers while I was getting adjusted to the conditions after Saturday's Vollerwiek. In the afternoon the was reflected really nicely on the wwater making it impossible to see anything. Later on lots of swell came in and the became stronger up to 55 knots. Normally not a problem on flat water but now it nearly impossible to find a flat piece of water. So with the Mistral gone for a day conditions should become better.
