Southend speed comp!  Never really sailed to get 500m before...its a long way at full speed.  Had problems with kit as I had all new kit as I had to get a last minute board to use.  Spent a lot of time messing about changing things.

Very pleased with a 44.29 500m(PB). Conditions were good and the competition was a real success.  These guys really have put a lot of work into organising this and its great that the wind was awesome!

Prob could have got other PB's if tried for max and 10s...conditions where that good.

Southend speed weekend day 1... really well organised by the team thanks to all, deserved a better turnout considering the conditions.

was a difficult call what kit to walk out with. took my old 5.8 in the light wind but the wind really kicked in and should of followed Jim who walked backed and changed down. was much faster on smaller kit as the course was quite tight.

still a pb 10 sec and average for Southend I think, and on the old 5.8.

well done Ant , Will and Jim . bad luck on Matty who onlly had 6.3.

gonna hit it again at 5am on smaller kit.

Great day 1 at southend speedweekend, awesome conditions and just missed out on 41 average think i might have been quicker on 5.4m. going to get out on the water early tomrrow to see if i can improve my pb's..

What  a day! Southend on top form - best conditions I have seen here for 3 years or more. What are the chances of that falling on Southend Speed Weekend - a big thanks to the organisers as it was a really well run event and deserves to have more people next time. I kept it old school today going for the 500m and resisting slingshots - pretty happy with the results a PB for me at Southend. One of the best days sailing for a long long time with Jim, Ian and Ant.
