Session 8: Took me 3hrs 15min to get to the spot this morning  Wind was very marginal in the beginning. Just enough to get my F89 + 7.8 going... 12 kts or so

Wind was on and off all day, but enjoyed being there. Exactly one year ago since my last session at Hoofdplaat. Very dense traffic on the water (ships), so you had to pay attention when aiming downwind. First time with the Hotrod 33. Wind was too light for descent testing. However it stayed nicely on track through the chop.

Did some nice alpha's today, but all too wide . Highest alpha was almost 43 (60 m spaced) which isn't bad with 7.8 in these conditions.

Another 100+ day !! Just short of 1000km this year in only 8 sessions .

Quite strange to sail at Hoofdplaat with 3 OBC teammembers but without the usual O-plaat suspects (Kurt, Paul, Dave, Tim, Joerie, Koen,...). Only Fabian joined us today. Missed you guys !!

Zoals al meer gebeurd is, had ik tijdens het oprijden weer die twijfels : gaat er wel genoeg wind staan..., aan B-dam staat er meer wind, waarom rij je dan niet naar daar....

Maar zoals bijna alle vorige keren werd het weer een zeer mooie soulsurfsessie met die fantastische lange rakken. Akkoord, het was weer light wind, maar door de constante wind toch bijna altijd direct terug in planee na het gijpen.

En volk! Slechts 3 speedies met een GPS, en dat waren dan 3 OBC-ers! Was het om ons feestje niet te vergallen dat Fabian zijn GPS was vergeten aan te doen?

Om 17.30h vaarden we ons laatste rakje langs de (nog volledige bank), dan snel naar de kant. Rond 18.30h zaten we in De Vriendschap met een frietje voor onze neus te supporteren voor de Duivels, die de bakens nog konden verzetten.
