What a trip, what a day!
Perfect timing with our (Tom & I) arrival around 13.00h and the launch of a strong tramontana around 14.00h.
Square angle, very flat water, i hadn't seen these conditions during my previous LF trips.
The first hour however, the wind was too strong for me. Made a carefull 5 runs to come in the day-ranking, and then decided to stop, still tired from the long trip.
During the 2 following hours I saw some guys flying (far above my league) and other guys waiting for less wind. After 18.00h I decided to give it another go, instead of calling it a day (that should have been the worst speedsurf decision of my life).
The wind decreased a bit, the water stayed smooth and my set was perfect to handle.
i had been looking for a 40 knots AVG for a few years know, and suddenly the one after another 75+ run fell out of the air. Unbelievable.
Less than 2 weeks after my first 80 max, I broke all my PR's (up to 500m) with at least 3 km/h. Coming in the Belgian ranking just after my speedbro Tom (for a short while anyway)
And that on the day before my 54th birthday. What a birthday present.
Luck was certainly on my side this time, but what a feeling
