Slowly nibbling away at board volume takes me down from my 96 litre Super Cross to an 87 litre iSonic. The fastest session I ever had on my Super Cross was much windier than today with a better angle on the course and the speeds were only slightly up on what I got today so I'm kind of hopeful that next time conditions are spot on then I'll be claiming some more PB's. This was my first time out with a sub 30cm fin and Daz's advice to go with a 29 was spot on. Having only sailed with bigger fins in the past I was kind of worried that I'd have no upwind ability and be constantly spinning out but this was certainly not the case. The morning was a bit of a battle with the wind pretty square on but during the afternoon it swung around making for a more broad course and higher numbers were had with much more ease. My best run of the the day where I got my 37 knot average and best peak of the day was late on when me Pete.C and Mark.H waited and timed our run to coincide with a passing squall. The waiting was rewarded with a magic carpet ride down the wall peaking at 38.5 knots, one of those runs where everything feels just right and I was saying to myself "more wind, more wind !". A great day but the hunt for 40 knots continues......
