gps-speedsurfing

Is there a waterproof wrist gps watch out there that can record windsurfing speeds. I will still use my GT31's but would like a wrist watch that records speeds so that its easier to check whilst sailing.

Any recomendations?

Yep, the old Garmin 201. comes with a velcro watch strap. I use it for quick speed checks, distance and basic watch. Plenty of used ones on ebay for around £30

If you're interested I have a velocitek GPS for sale for £35. 100% waterproof with boom mount. You can see it working in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y__bxc3kzXU  Diplays speeds in knots.

The Garmin 201, whilst waterproof, is recommended to be used with an aquapac or similar.

This is a PIMP as I sell them... but the very best watch for windsurfing is the Suunto AMBIT2 (100m waterPROOF with GPS and optional heart rate)

I have even got an APP loaded on mine that tells me

1) Best speed in knots per run (I manually have to press LAP each time I do a speed run.. that's all)

2) My max speed in knots for the entire session

3) Distance

plus Heart Rate data etc

We sell it here

You can also use the Forerunner 910XT, but it does not do KNOTS and you cannot make / upload speedsailing APPS to it.

Here's the MAX SPEED per LAP APP link

Here's a sailing session displayed on Movescount.
