Intense low pushing through meant that the weather was hideous to start with then when the wind came through it was turbulent and really gusty. The angle was not as forecast and was bang on west so totally square on the course. The sandbank seems to have changed dramatically recently also leaving some very shallow patches and lots of standing waves in places.
I had a fun sail but it was tough work in these conditions and 10sec averages were out of the question since it was really rough just a few meters from the shore. Shame as it was really quite windy and the sonic was tailwalking in the big gusts making things at times a little scary. Just as things were starting to get interesting i hit the bottom at quite some speed by sailing too close to the sandbank and I has literally thrown head first into the sand, i was lucky not to get badly hurt and managed to break most of my equipment in some way but nothing too serious LOL.
After getting back i changed over to the waveboard but not much swell came through so the jump fest i was hoping for did not happen.
