Fun NWer today, Herb, Mal and I were joined by a lot of others not in the GTC. Sam arrived towards the end of the session.

We launched from 5mile drift

I started of with the avi 5.3 on the 48 with the 21cm weedy, wind picked up a bit so thought I'd give the new 4.4 koncept a run, and handed over the 5.3 to Herby.

Got going nicely on the 4.4, got my top speed just off the end of the spit on port tack, thought I'd get brave and change down to the 43 with the 19cm weedy.

That went well even though the wind was backing off got a couple of 34s, this time on Mals favourite run, close to shore on Starboard.

Showed Sam where not to gybe, between the spit and the island, we both had a bit of a walk to get into deep enough water to start without grinding our fins down.

Look forward to a bit more wind to get the small stuff wound up.

Lake George, SA, AU   ...WooHoo.... A PB.     First sail at Lake George.     First session on my 5.9m Loft 02 which is my smallest sail, apart  from a 4.5. wave sail.     Luckilly Decrepid lent me a weed fin or I would have been buggered.    Unfitness and old age caused me to be soon  overpowered so I came in.     Mike was changing down so he let me use his 5.3m sail and I had another session and got my PB.    Cam had told me about the conditions here and he was spot on.     Mal  Faulkner and Mike were having a ball.     The wind was from the north so we never went to spit, but I think wind will swing to South tomorrow, so we will drive the rough road.    all told there were 9 carloads of sailors today.   Used my Gunny Runner with a 24 weed fin.
