Rain cleared and even some blue sky for a short while. Rigged 5.2m/96l then 76l as wind picked up and to see if 5.2m worked on76l, which it did.
Sea nice with smooth rollers. A couple of kiters packing up 9:30 after starting 7:30 to catch low water!
Wind quite S so sailing almost parallel to shore. As wind increased a bit and tide neared high rollers increased in size further out, guess sandbanks building there. Near river chop built for a while, and one roller felt mast high, probably not but still a bit scary.
Great fun playing swells and quite smooth except for ~20 mins when chop messed up. Shore dump built and hard getting out when changing board down, just about avoided one of the posts. Swainey broke a mast :-(. Came ashore Golf end to avoid getting smashed in concrete. Thought about sailing closer but shore dump everywhere and stopped whilst ahead Paul V made a now-rare visit but don't think made it past the shore dump, then watched his trailer fall apart. I had a good day and felt lucky not to have broken anything.
