Just back to Felixstowe after 6 weeks in France so wasn't in too much of a hurry to get down as knackered from a long drive but by eleven I had packed my lunch loaded my trailer and headed to The Dip and arrived just as the wind had dropped !!! - sailors had been going alright on 6.5 !!! The carpark was packed was packed - I have never seen so many oldtimers waiting for the wind to blow !!! a couple were out with 7.5 and 8 but not going well :( It was such a lovely mild sunny day, too good to waste so I decided to rig big and take the longboard for a cruise. Craig Hurrell who had been out earlier on 6.5 rigged 9.3 and joined me on a beat down the coast to just past the pier, we landed for a chocolate bar and chat before heading back - the sea was very lumpy and the wind a bit on the light side but we managed to get going just past the Fludgers and I continued into Bawdsey Bay for a few runs before walking across the shingle bar and beating out of the river past the many kiters. I had one more run to the Fludgers before returning back to the van - not a bad couple of hours in the sun, fingers crossed for more wind tomorrow, might try Landguard and see if the sea is flatter there ???
