The strongest wind we have experienced in Cornwall for a long time. Thanks to the generosity of my mother and her babysitting skills I was able to get out on the water directly after work. The wind had gone off the scale by 4pm and I arrived at the lake  to find Simon rigging up. I set up pretty much an identical set and we set off to take on the challenging conditions.

Massive wind gusts of 35 knots, big shifts, lulls and massive chop offshore only added to the occasion. You could sail across in front of the clubhouse and boats, then bear away towards the southern end as far as you  would dare. Super scary sailing downwind, and the board was just flying over and on top of the Chop. One hideous crash at 35 something only unsettled me a little, but after being smashed into to sail by a sledgehammer gust and felling dazed with a painful neck finished my session. Great to get home to a nice dinner.

Hopefully a few more days like this before it gets too cold!
