Unbelievable day of big wind at West Kirby - forecast spot on - well done guys at UK Met Office !.

Finally got 40 knots on dial on last run of day on last reserves of energy after sailing in icy cold water all day - sooo pleased about that!!!!!!!

All best runs in final session of day when wind peaked to total nuclear level (hand held anenometer sustained over 50 knots + !!) unlike others who had their fastest runs earlier in day when course was a fraction broader.

Water dead flat (apart from small reflected swell from opposite side of lake) but course very tight at around 100 degrees - total survival sailing with borrowed 4.5 Vapour (thanks Beefy) downhauled and outhauled to the max.

Total respect for Bob - simply don't know how you managed to find 5 knots more than everyone else on lots of runs or how scary that must have felt. I was crapping myself and totally on the limit !

Very impressed with i-sonic 50 - very smooth and easy to sail, should have gone on it earlier in day.

Lots of photos and video that we will post.

Looking forward to same wind but broader angle.

Chris
