My love of windsurfing is being tested - what a frustrating sport it is :( After nearly losing my board and having to swim ashore in my last session things were looking better today with a N/E wind great for Felixstowe but a bad tide coming in all morning with an early afternoon high making it bumpy and very little beach :( I was at the Dip at 10ish and there was nobody about but it was reading 17/20 mph on the gauge and the sea was flatish so I rigged 7m and went out on the 133, I struggled to get going and with a strong tide running I couldn't believe now much ground I lost !!! I derigged the 7 and after a long walk replaced it with the 7.8 which was much better :) It did take awhile to beat back, I tried the kite beach by the Ferry but any chance of flat water had long gone  :( I had one nice mile + broad reach back to The Dip and then went ashore while there was still some beach to land on. I was not the only one to have an average day, Chris Phillips broke a mast and had a long swim, Ian Clarke rigged two sails and struggled to get going and a couple came down and didn't get out at all !!! Tomorrow might be better if you can get out early enough and it's not raining !!! Also a bit on the nippy side :(
