Town Reach Tauranga session. Managed to get out one hour before low tide so water state was flatter than previous day. Long runs down the bar to Matapihi Bridge. Started with 20 Slingshot then changed early to 28 Venom when I  was fighting rolling chop halfway down the run. 

Was comfortable with 5.4, but perhaps would have been better gutting it out with 5.8.

This spot definitely has potential on a strong Easterly. The perfect angle being ENE or it may work on a SE going the other way. Late 30's is do - able as the run is long and flat and has water close to the bar, unlike Tamaki River  ( Just watch out for the railway bridge and current at the end!)
