Second windy day in a row and maybe some more tomorrow!!! :) but with the best conditions after the tide turns so there was no need to get to The Dip until early afternoon which gave me all morning to drive over to Hadleigh to get my broken trailer wielded and many many thanks go to Peter Cutts for doing it for me !!! :) It had been breezy all morning but when I got back to Felixstowe the tide was still too high and the wind seemed to have dropped:( So I was in no hurry to get down so after lunch I loaded all more boards on the trailer, checked landguard weather station and the wind was definitely dropping, two Marks – Swain and Smalling were already at The Dip but the wind was missing, Ian Clarke turned up and then Alasdair Parker arrived as did the rain and thunder! Swainy called it a day and went home. As Alasdair had driven 60/70 miles from Cambridge he rigged his 6.5 and went out on his 125 and planned away which then started a mass rigging on the beach. Me and Mark Smalling went for 8.5’s while Ian 7m, the wind was very patchy at this point but the water was nice and flat so it was ok, the wind built and built to over 20 kts and most changed down, Swainy had returned by now and started on 8.2 but then changed to 6.6m but I was ok with the big kit and by sailing broad and upwind I had a good sail:) I could have gone faster on smaller kit but it was getting late in the day and couldn’t be bothered to change. I had some flying downwind runs of over a mile then beating back to kite beach. After the tide had been coming in awhile the sea lumped up a bit so going fast was challenging so decided to call it a day, a bit on the dark side too – missing the sun but at least we missed all the heavy rain :) 4 star session for me and for the second day in a row got a 25 kt ave :)
