Excellent results from the pit, but it wasn't all that easy to achieve. We were on the course around 10am and sailed in very marginal conditions for many hours until the wind finally started to fill in around 4pm. Then we had a number of windy periods with the best one under a big rain cloud. Chris hit the course first followed by me and then a number of other sailors.
Chris and I got the best of the wind as it started to drop back almost immediately. The conditions were magical on the run. The course was still relatively flat but the wind angle would have been 140 or better I think. The water was white from the rain and the sand and a super rainbow lit the whole place up. Fantastic. I certainly pegged the speedo on the TM45 at around 47.9 knots. From my calculations that is about max. Hopefully I will get a shot at running a TM50 in similar conditions in the near future.

Congratulations to Chris on a such a fantastic result. That should put you on top of a couple of divisions. Also to Dan, Tom, Al and many other sailors that managed PBs of their own.

Al has done a great job to get everyone at this speed gathering. Its been a lot of fun for many guys and hopefully the speed potential of Sandy Point wil bring many more next year.
