At last, a very nice Maestrale day in Talamone.
The board has so much control I can keep pushing 100% all of the time, even in nasty chop. The fin makes it even more controllable, plus it's fast; I don't even feel the lack of upwind performance usually associated with Falcons. The sail is just perfect; I set it with 22 cms. extension and 200 cms. boom, it's both very powerful and smooth at speed; could go some more negative outhaul.
Did most runs at the upwind inner sailable part of the bay, just where the gusts come from; but it's at least 100 mts. from shore anyhow, so there was plenty of short, sharp chop. When analizing the runs, I discovered the top speed was obtained in open waters outside of the bay, despite the windswell associated with 6 Bft. Maestrale... good to know for next session!
