My mum has been visiting so I have not sailed in a couple of weeks because I have been busy. She came down to watch me sail for an hour after work and I am glad I could put on a show. I accidentally put my old 6.6 on the car which had been destroyed by Diony and although it was a good repair I believe it to be slower. I was fully wound on my 6.6 when I first went out and almost Immediately found a lane and put down the fastest run of the day on my third attempt. Unfortunately something changed and I did another half dozen runs with no success. This session was hard work. The waves were breaking about head high on the outside and shoulder high on the inside and quite close together. It was hard to find a sailable line. I could get short bursts but I would run out of room and have to bear off too deep.

Still after all that I am very happy as I put a 38 peak speed up today and I have not seen a 38 for 2 years!

Mum was impressed.
