Craig and I decided we should have a tilt on the tandem. Plugged in two 5.0m Koncepts and a 12" slalom fin and jumped on. Starting proved to be a real trial. We had about 5 trys before we got going. The first run was very unbalanced and we saw about 32 knots on the display.
A few adjustments were made and we tried again. This one felt much better. The rigs were balanced and the board ran flat. It was a long run and when we pulled up and saw 35.7 on the display we got quite excited that we might have bettered the famous 1986 A class tandem record of Griessemann/Bertin which was 35.06 for 500m. As it turns out we just missed it again. There is definitly a lot more to come from this thing, we just need more miles and a bit more fine tuning.
This was only 2 runs down and back so we didn't get a proper 5x10. When I take off the one per run we got an average of 32.9kts
