We had big hopes for today but alas the wind was not so strong and the angle was a bit tight on the east course. still Tony and Ant sneaked some pbs so well done.

5.0 m was way too small but at least it was easy going back upwind.

Great weekend at southend with Ian and Tony. good to get some new PB's i feel im getting quicker every session. still waiting for that epic day at the Ray.. Well done to Tony for getting his PB on the first time at southend.

Southend,

great place and it lived upto it's reputation, it was perfect for my first visit and i agree with Ian, 5.7 would have been better and it could have been a bit broader and . . . . . . . etc etc. when on a run we felt like we wanted to bear off further. But I had a great time, my gps showed i beat my peak speed only just but "computer says no" I did however smash my 500m by 3 knots, 250 and 100 also, second best averages so pretty pleased. still working on technique but getting there it really is a fine balancing act. wind was sw backing west i think. Have not done a mile yet ;-(, next time.

Good to sail with Antony and Ian and discuss gear and stuff.
