2026 “The First Edition – Kick Off” Dunkerbeck GPS Speed Challenge
The season opener. Early spring conditions in the north and strong trade winds in the south set the tone for what’s to come.

The Dunkerbeck GPS Speed Challenge 2026 kicks off a three-part global speed sailing series. Windsurfers worldwide are invited to clock their fastest speeds and compete from day one.

This first event sets the baseline. A strong start here can define your entire season. The ranking is based on the highest average speed over 250 meters, measured via GPS.
Sessions from the Lüderitz Canal are excluded from the ranking.
Series Overview
The Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge Virtual Global Tour runs in three periods:
- 01.04. – 31.05.26 · Period 1: Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge – The First Edition (Kick Off)
- 01.07. – 31.08.26 · Period 2: Summer Edition – The Charge
- 01.10. – 30.11.26 · Period 3: The Third – Final Action
Rankings are published on:

The overall series champion will be crowned based on the combined results of all three periods.
Categories (250m Average Speed)
- OPEN
- FEMALE
- Grand Master (51–60)
- Super Master (61–70)
- Ultimate Master (71–99)
- Youth (0–10)
- Junior (11–14)
- Junior Plus (15–18)
A category is only valid if at least 3 participants compete. Otherwise, results are counted in the Open Ranking.
Notice of Race (NoR) – 2026
1. Event Overview
- Event period: April 1 – May 31, 2026
- Format: highest 250m average speed using GPS
- Results must be uploaded to GPS-Speedsurfing.com by 23:59 UTC on May 31, 2026
2. Eligibility and Entry
- Open worldwide, all skill levels
- Registration via GPS-Speedsurfing.com
- Only approved GPS devices/apps accepted
3. Registration & Participation
- Register as a user on www.gps-speedsurfing.com (GP3S)
- Sign up for the event Dunkerbeck Speed Challenge
- By creating an account on GP3S, all participants agree to the terms and conditions, allowing DSC to share session data for rankings and send event-related information
- Upload your session to be included in the ranking. DSC reserves the right to determine participation eligibility
4. Series Championship
- Overall winners decided by combined results of all three events in 2026
- Tie-breaker: fastest single speed in any event
5. Results Submission
- Competitors are responsible for correct data upload
- Late submissions will not be considered
6. Liability
- Participation at own risk
- Organizers, sponsors and partners assume no liability for injuries, accidents or damages
- Participants are responsible for fitness, safety and equipment
7. Disqualification
- Manipulated/fake GPS data leads to immediate disqualification
- Organizers reserve the right to verify results
8. Amendments
- Organizers may adjust rules to ensure fairness and safety
